22.5.2013 The health care market
The purpose of occupational health services is to promote the health of employees and to prevent work-related illnesses. This aim has been realized at Atria's food-processing plant: the employees can visit their own new occupational health service station, where they get preventive care, treatment for illnesses, and rehabilitation. The occupational health services of many other workplaces focus increasingly on basic medical care, but the writing of sick leave prescriptions takes up the doctor's time, and burdens the limited resources.

The 'Mother and child home and shelter' at Tampere is a safe house called 'Sukupolvien talo' (=house for many generations). Because the large age cohorts are ageing and retiring rapidly, jobs should be available for young people. But this is not the case, at least not to the extent that we have been told. Nevertheless, increasingly broader knowhow will be needed in the future, and that can be acquired in many different ways.
